Lip Shield began as the balm I made for my daughter when I started to notice how closely her skin followed what was happening emotionally. Tiredness, illness, shock, worry and frustration would often show up on her skin before she had the words to explain how she was feeling.

I wanted to make something she could use every day to soften and protect her lips, but also something familiar she could reach for when she felt unsettled. Lemon balm has a long history in traditional herbalism as a plant associated with calm, restlessness and emotional strain, so it became an important part of the blend alongside lavender and Roman chamomile.

Lip Saviour came later, for the moments when everything feels hotter, sharper and more immediate. Peppermint gives the balm a clear cooling sensation that can help cut through overwhelm and bring your attention back to the present moment. It is less gentle reassurance and more of a cold flannel to the brain, which is probably more useful than it sounds.

Used together, the balms offer two different sensory experiences. Lip Shield feels softer and more familiar, making it easy to return to throughout the day. Lip Saviour feels cooler and more immediate, which can be particularly comforting when you feel overstimulated, restless or unable to settle.
